The Angkor Golf Course exhibits many aspects of my golf course design philosophies. I believe that golfers enjoy themselves most when they are challenged. I want golfers to have to think at all times on the golf course, and that means being able to “read” each hole from the tee, decide on a strategic approach to the hole, and then execute that strategy if each golfer’s goal is to be attained. Golfers should be aware of the particular pin position on each hole and plan accordingly. That means that bunkers and water hazards should ideally be visible at all times, and that the course should be fair but challenging for all golfers.
At the same time, I am very aware of the wide range of abilities that golfers bring to the course. My courses have plenty of teeing options so that all golfers can find a comfortable length course for their games. All of my favorite design elements: visibility, definition, strategy, challenge, variety, balance, playability, and enjoyment are here at Angkor Golf Resort.
